Both SUVs have plenty of power under their hoods. The Yukon and Tahoe give you the same three engine options.

The standard engine is a 5.3L V8 engine with 355 horsepower and 383 lb-ft of torque. The other, available gas engine option is the 6.2L V8 engine with a whopping 420 horsepower and 460 lb-ft of torque. Lastly, you can also opt for the available Duramax® 3.0L Turbo-Diesel engine which gives you 277 horsepower and 460 lb-ft of torque to work with.

What separates these two SUVs is the off-road capability the Yukon has to work with. The Traction Select System lets you adjust your drive modes depending on your environment. These modes include Sport mode and Tow/Haul mode. If you opt for available 4-wheel drive, Off-Road is an additional mode you can select as part of the Traction Select System.

Interior Features

The Yukon and Tahoe offer seating for seven or eight people, depending on configuration. Cloth and leather seating are available depending on which trim you choose.

In terms of technology, both also have infotainment systems with standard 10.2-inch touchscreens. These systems let you stream music, keep in touch with friends or relatives, and get directions.

Where the Yukon departs from the Tahoe is with the speaker system. The Tahoe offers up to ten speakers as part of its sound system. Meanwhile, the Yukon has available an impressive Bose® 14-speaker with CenterPoint® audio system. This system makes sure you feel like you’re in the front row at your favorite band’s concert with each song you play.

Exterior Features

The Yukon and the Tahoe are large SUVs that make a statement when they drive by. Their exterior features also offer convenience in terms of both visibility and ease. Standard LED headlamps help you see at night and make the vehicle easy to spot.

The available Hands-Free power Lliftgate helps make it easier to load your groceries into the trunk without having to put anything down. The system senses the key fob and opens when you approach or hit the exterior release button.

To help you succeed in your off-roading adventures, specific Yukon trims also offer available skid plates to protect the underside of your SUV. Horizontal red recovery hooks are available, too, in case you need them.
