The Nissan TITAN has one engine option. The standard engine is a 5.6L V8 engine that generates 400 horsepower and 413 lb-ft of torque.

The GMC Sierra has an impressive four engines to choose from—three gas and one diesel. This gives you the flexibility to select the power you need for your truck. The standard engine under the hood of the GMC Sierra is the 2.7L Turbo High-Output engine, capable of generating 310 horsepower and 430 lb-ft of torque.

A couple engines outdo the TITAN’s in terms of horsepower and torque. So, you can have the power if you want it.

Towing and Payload Capacity

If you’re looking to load up the truck bed or grab a trailer and hit the road, both the GMC Sierra and the Nissan TITAN are ready.

When properly equipped, the base model of the Nissan TITAN has a maximum towing capacity of 9,323 pounds. The payload capacity tops out at a maximum of 1,613 pounds.

The GMC Sierra has quite a bit more towing and payload capacity to work with. When properly equipped, the Sierra has a maximum towing capacity of 13,000 pounds—well over that of the Nissan TITAN.

In terms of payload capacity, the Sierra outperforms the TITAN too. The Sierra's maximum payload capacity of up to 2,280 pounds.

Inside the Cabin

The interior cabins of both the TITAN and the Sierra are made for comfort and practicality.

Each one starts with seating with standard cloth trim. You can upgrade to leather-trimmed seating and available heated front seats.

Both trucks also have standard infotainment systems with the GMC Sierra screen varying in size up to 13.4 inches, while the Nissan TITAN screen maxes out at nine inches. With these systems, you can stream music, utilize the available in-vehicle navigation, and enjoy Bluetooth® capability.

The GMC Sierra also has available Super Cruise™ technology, a hands-free, driver-assisted technology to help with automatic lane changing and navigation.

This technology is designed to work on over 200,000 miles of compatible roads, soon to be over 400,000 miles beginning with model year 2023. This type of hands-free driving technology is not available in the Nissan model.
