The Yukon XL offers three different engine options—two are gas V8 engines, while the third option is a diesel engine. All three are made to get you going.

The 5.3L V8 gas engine generates 355 horsepower, while the available 6.2L V8 gas engine produces an impressive 420 horsepower.

The 3.0L turbo-diesel engine offers an incredible amount of torque, topping out at 460 lb-ft.

Depending on which trim you choose, you have the option of standard rear-wheel drive or available all-wheel drive. For those drivers interested in off-roading, the AT4 trim also has all-terrain tires, skid plates, and two inches of additional ground clearance.

Dimensions and Cargo Space

The Yukon XL is essentially a longer wheelbase version of the Yukon. The wheelbase of the Yukon XL is 134.1 inches and the entire length of the SUV is 225.2 inches. This SUV offers a lot more space to work with and can seat up to eight people.

The legroom in all three rows of the Yukon XL is quite impressive. The first row has 44.5 inches, the second row gives you 42 inches, and the last row has 36.7 inches of legroom.

In addition to all this legroom, the Yukon XL has plenty of cargo space. Behind the third row, the Yukon XL gives you 41.5 cubic feet of cargo space. If you need all the space you can get, the maximum cargo volume totals 144.7 cubic feet.

Interior Features

As we mentioned, you can fit up to eight passengers inside the Yukon XL. If you choose the second-row captain’s chairs configuration, that brings the seat count to seven.

Depending on which trim level you choose, there are quite a few interior features available. You can enjoy wood trim and leather-trimmed seating. The front seats offer an available 10-way power adjustability option.

Like other GMC vehicles on the road, the Yukon XL also has a standard infotainment system. Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™ integration lets you stream music and use other favorite smartphone apps on the infotainment system. Voice recognition and in-vehicle navigation are available as well.
