The GMC Yukon Is Packed With Power

Our first stop in this review is under the hood, where we’ll take a look at the engines offered inside the GMC Yukon. That’s right, we’re talking engines—plural.

There are three powerful options to choose from. The first is the standard 5.3L V8 engine, generating 355 horsepower and 383 lb-ft of torque, and it’s accompanied by a 10-speed automatic transmission.

Next in line is the available Duramax® 3.0L turbo-diesel engine, which produces 277 horsepower, 460 lb-ft of torque, and also includes a 10-speed automatic transmission. If you’re looking for maximum efficiency, this engine comes in clutch, offering up to 756-mile range on a full tank in the Yukon XL trim.

Last—but certainly not least—is the optional 6.2L V8 engine. It’s available on the AT4 and comes standard on the Denali, bringing an impressive 420 horsepower and 460 lb-ft of torque.
