The GMC Terrain AT4 has one powerful engine under the hood.

The standard 1.5L Turbo 4-cylinder engine provides 170 horsepower and 203 lb-ft of torque. To help you save fuel, the 1.5L engine has advanced Automatic Stop/Start technology. When the Terrain AT4 comes to a stop, the engine shuts off to save fuel and turns back on when you’re ready to move again. It’s paired with a 9-speed automatic transmission.

With the Terrain AT4, you have the option of standard front-wheel drive or available all-wheel drive (AWD). If you want the ability to tackle various terrain, the available AWD Traction Select System features three modes: FWD, AWD, and Off-Road mode.

The Hill Descent Control feature uses antilock braking to provide smooth, controlled descent if you encounter steep hills. You can trust your Terrain AT4 to get where you need to go.

When you’re choosing an SUV, you want plenty of space inside for both cargo and people. The maximum cargo space you’ll get inside the Terrain AT4 is 63.3 cubic feet. With a full cabin, you can still enjoy 29.6 cubic feet of cargo space.

The Terrain AT4 seats five people. There’s plenty of legroom in the front and back rows, coming to 40.9 inches in the front and 39.7 inches in the back. For broad-shouldered passengers, the Terrain AT4 offers a ton of space: 57.2 inches in the front and 55.6 inches in the back.  The hip room is just as impressive in the front with 54.4 inches and the back with 51.8 inches.

Driver-Assist and Safety Features

To help keep you safe while you’re on the road, the GMC Terrain AT4 comes with standard driver-assist and safety features. Some of the six GMC Safety Pro features included with the Terrain AT4 are:

• Lane Keep Assist with Lane Departure Warning. If you unintentionally drift out of your lane, this feature warns you. It uses gentle steering guidance to help you stay centered within your lane.
• Automatic Emergency Braking. Working with Forward Collision Alert, this feature helps reduce or avoid collisions by braking in the event of an accident.
• Intellibeam Automatic High Beams. This feature automatically turns on your high beams when it's dark. When other motorists approach, the SUV switches down to low beams until the traffic passes.
